Journalist James McNicholas has claimed that Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale won’t have been happy after conceding to James Maddison at the weekend.
In their latest Premier League fixture, the Gunners claimed an impressive three points at the Emirates Stadium in a 4-2 victory.
Indeed, strikes from Gabriel Jesus, Granit Xhaka and Gabriel Martinelli saw them overcome Leicester City despite an own goal from William Saliba and an effort from Maddison.
Despite the win, however, McNicholas has stated that Ramsdale would have been disappointed to let in Maddison’s attempt at goal through his legs.
When speaking on his Gunnerblog YouTube channel after the game, the journalist explained: “Then we conceded another one. Maddison, he did Ramsdale there.
“We know Ramsdale obviously bested Maddison last season with a free-kick save, but Maddison got his own back today. Little feint and then shot through his legs. ‘Keeper won’t be happy with that, never are to concede through your legs.”

TIF Thoughts on Aaron Ramsdale and Arsenal…
The free-kick save McNicholas alludes to came in the previous campaign, where Ramsdale pulled off arguably the save of the season as he plucked a Maddison shot away from goal that looked destined to hit the back of the net.
On that occasion, the goalkeeper’s heroics helped Arsenal keep a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory, but it wasn’t quite the same story this time around.
Indeed, while the Gunners did still claim all three points, the Leicester man got his own back by nutmegging Ramsdale with his second-half strike. Even so, with another three points in the bag for Mikel Arteta, the English goalkeeper had the last laugh in the end.
