Dean Jones has admitted on The Done Deal Show that Arsenal target Yeremy Pino is said to be interested in a move this window.

Arsenal managed to get the majority of their transfer business done early this summer, with the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko both arriving in pre-season, but they don’t appear to be finished just yet.

Now with the Gunners seemingly close to offloading Nicolas Pepe, who hasn’t lived up to his £72m price tag, they are said to be keen on landing a new winger which could see Spaniard Pino arrive this summer.

Jones believes that Pino would indeed be interested in joining Arsenal.

“They are still on the case of Yeremy Pino, who scored in a win at the weekend for Villarreal, and he’s going to continue to play for his club as normal, but I’m told he is very much open to a transfer like this and would be excited to join Arsenal.”

TIF Thoughts on Arsenal’s interest in Pino…

It has been reported that Villarreal would be willing to accept an offer in the region of £33m for Pino this summer, which would likely be seen as great value for money given his age and the fact he’s already a regular in a competitive La Liga side.

However, he is still very young in footballing terms and would arrive unproven nor accustomed to the Premier League and its physicality, which could count against him – much like it has ended up doing with Pepe over the years.

Therefore, a move for someone such as Pedro Neto, who they are also said to hold a firm interest in, could be a more reliable option, and although he may cost more money, he wouldn’t need any time to adapt, perhaps making him a safer choice.
