According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Arsenal are interested in signing Yeremy Pino – but his potential signing will come down to timing and might not be for this window.
Despite having the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard, and Gabriel Jesus, the Gunners are looking to bring in some more attacking firepower before the end of the transfer window on Thursday night.
While they have been linked with attackers like Wilfried Zaha and Pedro Neto, another name has entered the ring with Villarreal starlet Pino. However, while there is genuine interest from the club, Jacobs claimed the move would be down to the right opportunity.
Jacobs said, “I think Pino’s the interesting one. Might not be this window, but the Arsenal interest is concrete, it’s just about timing.”
TIF Thoughts on Pino to Arsenal…
Mikel Arteta has done incredibly well to build a young core of talented youngsters that can grow together and eventually challenge for the Premier League title against the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.
Pino – hailed a “special talent” – broke out in the 2020/21 season where he picked up seven goals and one assist, he then showed improvement last season with seven goals and four assists. So far this season he has picked up one goal in his first three games.
It was previously reported that the Spanish club would be willing to accept a fee of around £42m for Pino. This may be seen as a lot for a 19-year-old who has yet to score double digits in La Liga, but considering his talent and the fact he can learn from the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus, it feels like a no-brainer – even if Arsenal have to wait a year or so.
Should Arsenal wait to sign Pino next summer?
