West Ham United manager David Moyes has rejected the opportunity to sign Arnaut Danjuma this summer.
This has been suggested by the TalkSPORT journalist Alex Crook who has been speaking on-air about the Hammers’ transfer efforts to land the Villarreal man.
It has been reported recently that West Ham made an approach on Tuesday to land the Dutch winger from the La Liga side, however, this was not to the approval of Moyes.
The report suggests the 25-year-old could be available this summer for in the region of €40m (£34.3m) despite having only signed for Unai Emery’s side last summer.
Despite having an impressive 2021/22 campaign – especially in the Champions League – it seems Moyes holds some concerns over whether the winger would be a good fit at the London Stadium:
“It appears that interest was stronger from Gold and Sullivan than it is from David Moyes. At the moment. David Moyes is not keen to pursue this deal.
“I think there’s some doubts about Danjuma’s temperament and maybe about how hard he worked off the ball as well. David Moyes at the moment has other preferred targets in the form of Jesse Lingard. I mentioned yesterday [Wednesday] there was a contract offer from West Ham on the table for him and Armando Broja, the striker at Chelsea as well.”

We think the final decision has to be made by Moyes and if he is a player who he has reservations about then it should be something the board listen to.

Ultimately, if Moyes had no desire to manage him at West Ham, we do question why the board have failed to do their research before putting forward a proposal?
With Danjuma now seemingly not a possibility, it will be interesting to see whether this leaves Jesse Lingard as the man to come through the doors this summer to bolster the Hammers’ attack.
