Tottenham Hotspur director of football Fabio Paratici is currently in Milan working on the potential departure of Japhet Tanganga.
This is according to the transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano who has suggested on his Here We Go podcast that AC Milan are closing in on the loan signing of the Spurs defender.
Paratici has acted decisively on bringing in new faces to Hotspur Way with six additions now through the door in N17 with Djed Spence announced on Tuesday.
However, there has been a lack of action in the outgoings department with Steven Bergwijn being the only noteworthy departure from the first team.
But it seems as if the 23-year-old, Tanganga, could now be headed for the exit doors with the reigning Serie A champions potentially being his new home for the 2022/23 campaign:
(13:30) “So Spence joins Spurs. Sixth signing for Fabio Paratici who is in Milan today [Tuesday] here in Italy to discuss also with AC Milan about Tanganga who could go to AC Milan on loan.”
TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…
It does feel as if the Spurs ace is at a real crossroads in his career with the north London side after a season where he only featured 11 times under Antonio Conte due to injury.
Can Tanganga become a Spurs regular in the future?
Yes
No
However, that has been the story of his short career so far, with injuries seeing the Englishman miss 43 games in the last three campaigns (via Transfermarkt).
With additions being made to the Spurs defence, we think a loan deal could be a great option for Tanganga where he’ll be looking to put himself back on the map with – hopefully – a season injury-free and playing regular football.
