Newcastle United do have an eye on the Watford attacker Ismaila Sarr as their pursuit of new forwards rolls on this summer.
This has been suggested by the transfer guru Dean Jones who has been speaking about the Toon’s plans for the final weeks of this summer’s transfer window on the Ranks FC podcast.
It has been widely suggested the Tyneside club had made the Bayer Leverkusen winger, Moussa Diaby, their main target to fulfil their right-wing needs.
However, recent reports now suggest this move may not be a possibility this summer with the Frenchman now expected to remain at the Bundesliga club.
But Jones now believes Dan Ashworth could turn his attention to the recently-relegated Watford who have the Senegalese gem still on their books:
(19:50) “Ismaila Sarr, we mentioned before, he is one of the players that is coming into the running for that. Him and [Emmanuel] Dennis obviously do both want to leave Watford as soon as possible. So Ismaila Sarr being looked at.”

We think this would certainly be an interesting move from the Magpies this summer given Sarr is a player who has gathered the reported interest of the likes of Liverpool.

Ben Foster has previously hailed the youngster for his “freak” ability and commented on how the winger ran Matt Targett “ragged” during his days at Aston Villa.
Sarr, who was dubbed a ‘champion’ by Claudio Ranieri, has certainly caught the eye during his time with the Hornets, although he has shown he may still need some time to develop his game in the Premier League (via Transfermarkt).
The 24-year-old could certainly prove a promising addition for the Toon, however, signing him may put a move for Diaby in the future under serious doubt.
