Newcastle United are currently working hard to land some new faces in the summer market with a striker high on their list.

This has been suggested by the Sky Sports correspondent Mark McAdam, who has addressed the Toon’s plans on a transfer-based Instagram Q&A.

Eddie Howe’s side have made a steady start to the summer window, with three permanent additions coming through the doors of St. James’ Park.

Armando Broja is among the players who have been heavily linked with a potential move to St James’ Park this summer, with the Albanian striker believed to be valued in the region of £30m.

With just a matter of weeks until Newcastle kick off their new campaign against Nottingham Forest, McAdam believes the Toon are now working hard on bringing in new faces – particularly up top:

TIF Thoughts on McAdam’s comments…

The Magpies certainly wasted a lot of time – albeit not through their own wrongdoing – during the proposed move for Hugo Ekitike, which saw their striker search come to a halt.

Do NUFC need to replace Wilson or provide him backup?

However, they may be able to bounce back from their failed efforts to land the Frenchman by landing someone like Broja, who already has Premier League experience under his belt.

It seems adding support for Callum Wilson is high up on the Toon’s list of priorities, and we think if they are to go for Broja, there may be less of a rush to bring him in compared to the likes of Ekitike given he already has Premier League experience.
