Leeds United are now no longer pursuing the RB Salzburg midfielder Mohamed Camara this summer after the signing of Tyler Adams.

This has been suggested by the transfer guru Fabrizio Romano who has been speaking on the Que Golazo YouTube channel to discuss all things summer transfers.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Yorkshire club confirmed the arrival of their new American midfielder who has been acquired in their efforts to replace Kalvin Phillips.

The Mali midfielder has also been linked with a potential move to fellow Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion who are yet to make their move.

Just days after having reportedly made a breakthrough for a deal to bring Camara to Elland Road, Romano had the following to say:

“The answer I received is they will only sign, as of today, one midfielder. I say as of today because it’s still July. So maybe later in the month or in August things could change in case they sell another player or Jesse Marsch will say okay, let’s sign another midfielder.

“But as of today [Wednesday], the plan is clear. Tyler Adams is the player they want, is the player they signed because it’s a done deal since Monday.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

We think, for now, this is the right decision from Leeds with many reports suggesting Camara would have been the more expensive option over Adams.

Do Leeds still need Camara?

Yes

Yes

No

No

However, we will be interested to see if this is potentially a deal which the Whites could possibly look to revisit later on in the window.

Leeds have already brought in two new faces to address Phillips’ departure, but if there is some movement on the price in the coming weeks from Salzburg, could Leeds look to significantly bolster their midfield.
