Everton are interested in the possibility of adding El Bilal Toure to Frank Lampard’s options this summer after Richarlison’s departure.
This is what the insider Graeme Bailey has claimed when speaking about the Toffees on the latest episode of the Talking Transfers podcast.
The Brazilian has now been confirmed as a Tottenham player in a £60 million move.
Although the money will prove a huge boost to Everton’s current financial struggles, it seems it may also be useful in their efforts to replace the 25-year-old.
And it appears the Mali international, Toure, may be who they look to replace Richarlison with Bailey claiming this is a player who Everton are keen on:
“El Bilal Toure is a player of great interest to Everton. He’s a Malian international, plays up front on the left, very similar to Richarlison. This is a guy who’s attracted a lot of attention in recent months, Newcastle looked at him late last year. So yeah, this guy, we believe could be available for around £20m.”
“Keep an eye on him. Everton like him a lot,” Bailey added.
TIF Thoughts on Bailey’s comments…
The 20-year-old is still very much a raw talent having only made 21 appearances – 15 starts – Stade Reims in Ligue 1 over the 2021/22 campaign.
Are you worries about replacing Richarlison?
Yes
No
And in those appearances, Toure was able to provide two goals and four assists which has also reportedly caught the attention of Newcastle United.
With this in mind, Everton may come across some competition if they are serious about landing Toure, however, with such little experience, it remains a big risk whether he will adapt and progress in the Premier League.
