Celtic are open to the prospect of signing another striker at Celtic Park this summer.

That is according to Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph, who was speaking to GiveMeSport about the Scottish club’s potential signings this summer.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have made seven additions to their side so far this summer, but the club have thus far not been able to add an out-and-out centre-forward to the Scottish champions’ squad as of yet.

The club have been able to turn the loan deals for Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers into permanent additions, whilst the club have also managed to add Aaron Mooy to the squad, who has worked under Postecoglou during the Celtic boss’ time as manager of the Australian national team.

And Joseph believes that the Parkhead club could look to add a striker before the window’s end.

He said: “Celtic were definitely looking for a central defensive midfielder to add strength and depth and perhaps for that person to be a starter.

“I think they would also like another striker.”

TIF Thoughts on Joseph’s comments…

We believe it would be remiss on Celtic’s part if they were not to add a striker to the squad this season, with Giorgos Giakoumakis and Albian Ajeti being the club’s only two senior centre-forward options at the moment.

We think that the club could do with adding to the firepower they already have in those advanced positions in the centre-forward spot and that Postecoglou will be angling for the club’s hierarchy to reach out for a striker who is capable of performing on a consistent basis in the Premiership and the Champions League.
