Pundit Barry Ferguson believes that Celtic may consider an offer for Josip Juranovic this summer.

The former Scotland international was speaking on the Go Radio Football Show amid speculation surrounding the Hoops full-back’s future.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that Parkhead officials are expecting Juranovic to leave the club ahead of the forthcoming season with the Croatian attracting a lot of admirers.

Meanwhile, Izak Ante Sucic of Croatian outlet Germanijak had dismissed reports insisting that the 26-year-old didn’t want to ‘jeopardise’ his place in Croatia’s national team for the upcoming World Cup with a move elsewhere but there was still fear of ‘unwanted interest’ from Atletico Madrid in the defender who the Bhoys signed on a five-year deal just last summer for £2.5m.

Elsewhere, The Scotsman claimed that the club would ask for £15m and Ferguson feels that if the right offer comes in, Celtic may be enticed into accepting it.

He said: “There is a chance [he goes]. I mean, what did Celtic sign him for, £2m, £2.5m? For me, I thought it was a snip after watching him a number of times. You can see he’s a Croatian international. Look, he is a top full-back, so if somebody comes in with an offer, Celtic might look at it.”

With Atletico Madrid’s club president recently admitting that the club will need to raise up to €40m (£34.1m) before making any signings (AS), they could be forced to explore alternatives to Juranovic.

The 20-cap Croatia ace has quickly endeared himself to Hoops fans with five goals and two assists in 35 appearances, and in a potential reprieve for Ange Postecoglou, it appears that the Spanish club are closing in on Udinese’s Nahuel Molina.

The player himself has also admitted that he is happy in Glasgow and already at a ‘big club’, so it does look as if he will be sticking around.
