Celtic will now face a battle to keep ahold of their Croatian full-back Josip Juranovic this summer, according to Pete O’Rourke.

The transfer-focused journalist has been speaking to This Is Futbol to discuss Ange Potsecoglou’s transfer plans and the challenges he faces at Parkhead.

Postecoglou’s side have already made two loan deals permanent this summer and have seen Ben Siegrist arrive through the doors to provide Joe Hart with some backup.

It has been suggested Atletico Madrid are showing an interest in the Croatian this summer with Fabrizio Romano previously revealing interest from Leicester City.

And with this reported interest from across Europe in Celtic’s 26-year-old, O’Rourke feels as if Postecoglou is going to face a real challenge to keep him at Parkhead, saying:

“It will be a battle for Celtic to keep hold of him, especially if Atletico Madrid are in the market to try and sign the Croatian as well. It all comes down to price; if they put up a big offer, Celtic will, I’m sure, have to consider it.”

TIF Thoughts on O’Rourke’s comments…

This will likely frustrate a lot of Celtic fans who will have been impressed by Juranovic’s debut campaign in the Scottish Premiership last season.

No

However, his displays have clearly caught the attention of other clubs but it is reported that Celtic would need a huge offer to sell him this summer.

With the arrival of Cameron Carter-Vickers permanently, it is also a possibility that Juranovic may look at the American’s decision and decide to stay with almost-guaranteed first-team football under Postecoglou.
