Journalist Robin Bairner has backed Kyogo Furuhashi to ‘potentially’ secure a move from Celtic to the Premier League one day.
The Japanese star enjoyed a tremendous maiden campaign in Scotland last term finishing as the Hoops’ leading goalscorer with 20 goals in 33 games.
He was lauded by former Parkhead enforcer Stylian Petrov for being ‘outstanding all season’ and when he arrived from Vissel Kobe he was even the current top scorer in the J-League with 14 goals in 20 matches, such was the fine campaign he had.
The £5.4m-rated ace was also directly involved in five goals in the Europa League and now with Champions League football to come his rise from Asia to Europe’s top table could take him to the heights of the English top-flight according to Bairner.
Speaking on the Que Golazo YouTube channel when asked which Celtic players are ones to watch he said:
“In terms of the offensive line you’re undoubtedly looking at Kyogo. He had his troubles with injury but he was supremely exciting. He is absolutely lightning-quick.
“He’s 27-years-old but he’s definitely a player who we can look for to take the next step up and potentially move into the Premier League.”

Interestingly, it has been Josip Juranovic who has been linked with a move to the Premier League so far this window.
Former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell certainly approves of his talent hailing his impact in Glasgow as ‘nothing short of awesome’ and it will be interesting to see if Bairner’s comments come to pass.
Osdonne Edouard is the most recent Hoops star to make the move down south with 125 goal involvements in 179 games for the Celts earning him a move to Crystal Palace.
While considerably older than Edouard was during his time with the Bhoys, Kyogo will have the chance to put himself in the shop window when he plays among Europe’s elite in the Champions League this season and his performances in that competition will go a long way in proving whether he has the ability to make it in the Premier League or not.
