Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph has provided an update on Celtic’s interest in Paris Saint-Gemain teenager Edouard Michut.

The young midfielder, who is still only 19-years-old, made seven first-team appearances for PSG last season as he started making an impression in the French capital. In fact, he made such an impression in the last campaign, that he managed to attract the interest of Celtic, according to Sky Sports.

Speaking about the situation, Joseph told GiveMeSport: “The interest, as we understand, is still there. Postecoglou will obviously know more on how it’s developed, how Michut is feeling and his agent is feeling.

“Maybe there is a bit of frustration there as well, so we’ll see how it goes.”

From Michut’s perspective, it seems as though he wants more minutes that the seven appearances he was handed last season. And that may only be achieved through a move elsewhere. With Celtic still interested, too, we could see the youngster in the Scottish Premiership before the transfer window slams shut next month.

TIF Thoughts on Joseph’s Comments…

With the Scottish Premiership getting underway in a week’s time, Celtic may want to act quick to get any remaining business done before it can interrupt their campaign. Ange Postecoglou will be looking to retain the Scottish crown, and will know how important a good start is when attempting to achieve that.

Signing Michut would certainly excite Celtic fans. This is a teenage prospect from a top European club, after all. The fact that they can attract such talent proves just where they stand as a club right now. Signing a player with such potential could solve any midfield issues for years to come at Celtic Park.

With over a month left of the transfer window, a lot can still happen, and Celtic may be keen to prove that.
