Dean Jones has admitted on the Chasing Green Arrows YouTube channel that he’s worried for Wolves this season.

The Midlands outfit are yet to make a breakthrough in the transfer market this summer, although it has recently been reported that they have agreed a fee for recently relegated defender Nathan Collins, who will cost them £20.5m.

Wolves have lost Romain Saiss, who departed as a free agent earlier this summer, while Chiquinho has picked up a cruciate ligament injury in pre-season, which sees him set to miss the start of the campaign. Elsewhere, they were the fourth-lowest scorers last season, so alarm bells may well be ringing.

Jones, who was speaking before a fee was agreed for Collins, has admitted he is worried for Wolves this campaign.

He said: “Wolves are starting to look like relegation candidates, like, the way that last season ended and the way the summer’s gone so far, it’s really not looking good.”

TIF Thoughts on Wolves’ current situation…

While the signing of Collins would finally get Wolves off the mark, it wasn’t necessarily their defence that was an area of concern last season, as they managed to keep 11 clean sheets in the Premier League, whereas they only scored 38 league goals.

Reports have also suggested that Fabio Silva is set to leave on loan, which will see Bruno Lage’s attacking options get thinner, and so you would think more signings have to be made, or this season could turn into a very long and tough one for Wolves.
