Wolverhampton Wanderers are now expected to make a maximum of four new signings in this summer’s transfer window.
This is according to transfer guru Dean Jones, who was speaking on the latest episode of the Ranks FC podcast to provide the latest transfer news.
It has been a fairly underwhelming transfer window for Wolves, with just one new face arriving in the shape of the former Burnley man Nathan Collins.
Hwang Hee-chan has also been signed this summer, however, he had spent the 2021/22 campaign out on loan at Molineux from RB Leipzig.
With Bruno Lage’s side failing to impress in the window so far, Jones provided his insight on what the Wolves fans can expect in the coming weeks transfer-wise.
He said: “I asked someone close to the situation, what can happen from here; what should we expect? He said probably three signings – maybe four max. The most significant will be a forward.”
TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…
There is certainly cause for some concern after what was a dreadful ending to the campaign from Lage’s men as they slipped down to 10th spot.
Are you disappointed by the lack of signings?
Yes
No
Although there may not be any major concerns over Wolves facing any critical issues this season, it does make us question whether there is the ambition to progress up the table.
And there is still some speculation surrounding the future of Ruben Neves, with the Portuguese midfielder still a potential departure, so this summer may be one which could be looked back on as a missed opportunity to improve.
