Journalist Ryan Taylor has claimed that Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos is somebody that is being considered by Wolves this summer.

Wolves have reportedly made Ramos a target this summer as they look to bolster their attacking options, but they face competition to sign the 21-year-old, as Paris Saint-Germain have also shown interest.

Bruno Lage’s side have had a fairly quiet summer transfer window so far, as they have made just two additions in Nathan Collins and former loanee Hwang Hee-chan. With Raul Jimenez scoring just six goals in the Premier League last season, it is no surprise that Lage is looking to bring in some new firepower up top.

With reports stating that Wolves have made Ramos a target for them this summer, Taylor spoke to GiveMeSport and claimed that he is someone who will be considered, but there are question marks over how much he will cost if Lage wants to bring him to Molineux.

He said: “I do think Wolves will add another striker to their squad because they need that depth. I think the lad from Benfica, Ramos, he’s one that will also be considered, but I don’t know how much he would cost.”

TIF Thoughts on Taylor’s comments…

Ramos – hailed as ‘incredibly prolific‘ by scout Jacek Kulig – is a product of the Benfica youth academy, and despite recently turning 21, he has already featured in 59 first-team games for the Portuguese club. Due to the experience that he already has under his belt at such a young age, Benfica have reportedly slapped a £34m price tag on him.

It is clear that Wolves are in desperate need to make some new additions, especially in the attacking area of the pitch, as they scored the least amount of goals out of all the sides that stayed in the Premier League last season, so it will be interesting to see if they splash the cash on Ramos.
