Journalist Pete O’Rourke has cast his doubts over Wolverhampton Wanderers keeping Morgan Gibbs-White this summer.
According to the Express & Star, Wolves have offered Gibbs-White a new contract, but the English midfielder is yet to sign a new deal, as Premier League clubs have been tracking his progress.
Gibbs-White was in fine form last season in the Championship whilst on loan with Sheffield United, as he featured 37 times in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and chipping in with a further 10 assists for the Blades.
After impressing with the Blades last term, Wolves have offered him a new deal, but whilst speaking with GiveMeSport, O’Rourke claimed that the fact that he has not yet signed the contract might be an indication that he will be moving on.
He said: “I think initially they are keen to keep hold of Morgan Gibbs-White, they do see a future for him at Wolves.
“They have offered him a new contract, which remains on the table, but if Gibbs-White is not going to sign that contract, then that’s indicating that he would like to move on in search of regular first-team football.”

TIF Thoughts on O’Rourke’s comments…
Gibbs-White was out of favour at Wolves at the start of last season, which is why he was sent out on loan by Bruno Lage, and now that several top-flight clubs have shown an interest in him, he might be keen to move somewhere where he is guaranteed regular first-team football, so we can see where O’Rourke is coming from.
However, the fact that Wolves have tabled a new deal for the 22-year-old when he still has two years left on his current deal could be an indication that Lage sees him being heavily involved next season, so it will be interesting to see where he ends up at the start of next term.
