Sky Sports man Ben Dinnery has offered his verdict on whether Pedro Neto’s knee injury will be a reoccurring one next season.

The Wolves winger suffered a long-term knee injury at the end of the 2020/21 season, and only managed to return in the second-half of last season. Now, with a full pre-season ahead of him, Neto has the chance to gain full fitness and get some consistency under his belt.

Speaking to Premier FPL injuries on the chances of Neto staying fit, injury specialist Dinnery said: “That’s not of any great concern in the grand scheme of things. Like I say, it will come down to having a successful and fit pre-season program.”

So far in pre-season, Wolves have had just the one pre-season game, with a behind closed doors friendly against Burnley ending in a comfortable 3-0 victory for the Premier League side. Next up is a game against Alaves on July 20, before games against Levante, Besiktas, Sporting Club, and Farense to end their pre-season.

TIF Thoughts on Pedro Neto…

Wolves certainly lacked the spark that Neto offers them last season, with their struggles in front of goal no secret. Bruno Lage’s side managed just 38 goals – the 17th worst in the league – as Raul Jimenez understandably failed to hit the ground running in his first season back after injury, scoring just six goals in all competitions.

Prior to his injury, Neto was an important part of the Wolves side. In the 2020/21 season, he managed 11 goal involvements in the Premier League, and offered his side that much-needed creative boost. And now that he is back fit, he will hope to have a similar impact next season.
