Dean Jones has admitted his concern for Wolverhampton Wanderers following the injury to Raul Jimenez in pre-season.

The Mexican would have been looking ahead to next season, and the opportunity to return to his best after an underwhelming campaign last time out, in which he managed just six goals in all competitions.

Following an injury in pre-season, however, Jimenez will be forced to wait for that attempt to get back to his best form. The injury in question will reportedly see the Wolves striker miss a number of weeks at the start of the season.

The issue for Wolves is that, after sending Fabio Silva out on loan, they don’t currently have a long list of strikers available. As things stand, the main option is set to be Hwang Hee-chan. Jones admitted on the Chasing Green Arrows show that, with Wolves’ lack of options, he’s worried for them.

Jones said: “I’m a little bit worried about Wolves at the moment, to be honest. I don’t think that the summer has gone anywhere near how they expected it to go. I think there are some big problems.”

TIF Thoughts on Wolves…

Wolves haven’t exactly had a busy summer, to say the least. In fact, they’ve welcomed just one new arrival in the form of centre-back Nathan Collins, whilst also signing Hee-chan on a permanent basis.

Considering their lack of business, Wolves can’t risk a slow start to the season. If they enter a poor period of form, then they could find themselves in trouble and feeling regretful about a quiet summer transfer window.

With one month left until deadline day, Wolves still have time to welcome fresh faces, however.
