Wolverhampton Wanderers ace Max Kilman could be targeted by Chelsea later in the transfer window.

That’s according to transfer insider Dean Jones who has provided an insight on the London club’s ongoing pursuit for a centre-back with the Molineux man on their radar.

Despite the arrival of Kalidou Koulibaly in west London, Thomas Tuchel is reportedly eyeing two more additions at the heart of his defence.

After Barcelona hijacked their attempt to bring in Jules Kounde, Chelsea have been forced to look elsewhere with Leicester City starlet Wesley Fofana entering the conversation.

Leicester are thought to be asking for £70m for Fofana and Jones feels that could force Chelsea to look elsewhere with Kilman seemingly on the radar.

Speaking on the Chasing Green Arrows YouTube channel he said:

“There’s genuine interest Chelsea do like him [Fofana] obviously he’s going to have his head turned a bit by this interest. Chelsea have to sign a centre-back right, they’ve got to.”

“One to look out for if it doesn’t happen then people like Max Kilman do come into the discussion.”

TIF Thoughts on Kilman and Wolves…

Do you think Kilman will leave Wolves?

No

Kilman was integral to Wolves’ strong defensive record last season with only the league’s top four Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham conceding fewer league goals than their 43 in the Premier League.

He ranked first among Old Gold defenders with a 7.03 SofaScore rating for the season and he ranked in the top five in Bruno Lage’s squad for minutes played, interceptions per match and aerial duels won, as per WhoScored.

His form seen him tipped for an England call-up and at 25 would appear to have a bright future in front of him however whether that leads him to the capital with Chelsea remains to be seen.
