Insider ExWHUemployee has provided an interesting update on West Ham United target Ismaila Sarr, amid his links to the Wasserman agency.
Wasserman are a sports marketing and talent management company that have strong links to West Ham, partly due to the fact that David Moyes’ son, David Moyes Jr, used to work there – and has since joined the Premier League club’s recruitment team as a scout.
The agency represents a number of well-known players such as Harvey Barnes, John Stones and Watford winger Sarr (via Transfermarkt). With that in mind, Ex has stated that this could explain why West Ham may be seeking a deal for the 24-year-old.
Speaking on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex said: “[Emmanuel] Dennis of Watford and Sarr of Watford is an interesting situation. Apparently, both of them didn’t go on their tour.
“Sarr is also another Wasserman target and could explain why possibly it looks like we’re not going to sign Keane Lewis-Potter – he looks to be going to Brentford, according to reports on Sky today [Monday].
“I don’t think West Ham are going to attempt to hijack that bid at the end. So that does mean if they don’t attempt to hijack it, that we must have other targets in that wing/attacking midfield position.”
Should West Ham sign Emmanuel Dennis and Ismaila Sarr?
Yes
Just Dennis
Just Sarr
Neither
TIF Thoughts on Ismaila Sarr and West Ham…
As Ex mentions, it does seem as though Brentford will land Lewis-Potter from Hull City, meaning the West Ham target is almost certainly off the market.
And so, the insider concludes that the club must be focusing on other attacking midfield options instead. Of course, both Dennis and Sarr have been linked with the club before.
But with the Wasserman connection now made clear, it could well mean that Sarr is viewed as an attainable target. Adding to that, the player did indeed miss out on Watford’s pre-season trip to Austria.
Taking everything into account, it does seem as though the pieces are beginning to fall together regarding a summer transfer.
