West Ham United are now working on their next signing, having confirmed the acquisition of Gianluca Scamacca on Tuesday night.
This is according to Fabrizio Romano, who has been speaking on the Here We Go podcast to discuss the Hammers’ plans for the remainder of this summer’s window.
And the player in question is believed to be Filip Kostic of Eintracht Frankfurt, with Romano already claiming the Bundesliga side have received a bid from the Hammers.
Kostic was one of the players who played a big role in the semi-final meeting between the two clubs last season in the Europa League, with 180 minutes of action across the two games.
With the new campaign now just over a week away, Romano believes the Hammers have their eyes on landing their fifth signing of the window.
Speaking prior to confirmation of Scamacca’s arrival, he said: “After Scamacca, with the same agent, West Ham will discuss about Filip Kostic; already submitted a proposal to Eintracht.
“Eintracht are prepared to accept, in case the player will say yes, and now negotiations [are] ongoing between the agent – the same of Scamacca – and Kostic, on the personal terms to understand if the player wants to accept this West Ham proposal. It will be an important week.”

This would feel like a great addition if the Hammers were able to land Kostic in the coming weeks, after what was a really impressive campaign for the Serbian.

Alongside Scamacca, it feels as if David Moyes is really highlighting the importance of improving the weaker spots in his side, with a lack of goal involvement coming from the likes of Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku.
Moyes’ side missed out on a Europa League place by a handful of points last season, however, with the potential addition of Kostic, it would seem they are making huge strides to close the gap on the top six.
