ExWHUemployee has claimed that Abdou Diallo is one of the top targets for West Ham United in this transfer window.

Diallo has emerged as one of the main targets for West Ham this summer, and Paris Saint-Germain are asking for €20m (£16.8m) for their 26-year-old defender, who is also on the radar of Napoli.

The Ligue 1 defender played a sporadic role for PSG last season, making 16 appearances in all competitions as he spent large parts of the season on the bench, featuring just 12 times in the league.

With Diallo not playing a predominant role last season for PSG, ExWHUemployee has claimed that they are looking to sell him this summer and that he remains one of the top targets for West Ham, with David Moyes looking to bolster his defensive options.

Writing on The West Ham Way’s Patreon page, Ex claimed: “The French champions PSG are looking to sell the centre-back – who can play left-sided centre-back or left-back – this summer and want around £17m for the Senegal international. There are a couple of other targets lined up in this position too, but Diallo seems one of the top targets.”

TIF Thoughts on Ex’s comments…

The Hammers have brought in four new signings so far this summer, but in pre-season, Nayef Aguerd picked up an ankle injury that could see him sidelined for the opening fixtures of the season, so Moyes might push to sign Diallo so that he can fill in at centre-back during the new signing’s absence.

Aaron Cresswell is the clear first-choice option at left-back in the Hammers squad at the moment amid uncertainty over Arthur Masuaku’s future. So it could be killing two birds with one stone if they opt to bring in Diallo, who has been called a ‘very good’ player, as he can offer his services at left-back or in the heart of defence, so he could provide much-needed versatility for Moyes.
