Alex Crook has claimed on TalkSport that David Moyes has West Ham United target Armando Broja at the top of his transfer wishlist this summer.
It has been reported previously that the Hammers are getting ready to lodge a £30m bid for the Albanian, who managed to net nine goals in 38 appearances across all competitions last term, which was seemingly enough to impress David Moyes.
However, the Hammers certainly won’t be alone in their pursuit of the striker, with Newcastle United reportedly wanting to take him up to Tyneside, but with the chance to remain in London and play European football, the Hammers may fancy their chances of securing his services.
Crook has stated that Moyes still has Broja right at the top of his shopping list.
Would Broja start for West Ham?
Yes!
No!
He said: “Armando Broja – did well at Southampton last season, certainly for the first half of the campaign. West Ham [are] really keen on him, as I understand it. David Moyes pretty much has put him at the top of his summer shopping list.”
TIF Thoughts on West Ham’s interest in Broja…
It would be a smart move for the Hammers if they could bring in Broja as he’s already got plenty of Premier League experience at such a young age. However, while he may get plenty of game time, Broja is at that age where he needs to be playing week-in, week-out, which is arguably not likely to happen at West Ham straight away.
This may be a key point in Broja’s decision as does he wish to go to West Ham and play backup to Michail Antonio, who has led the line for many years in claret and blue, so it could be considered unlikely he’d immediately be moved to the bench to accommodate a new 20-year-old signing.
