Journalist Roshane Thomas has claimed that West Ham United’s third bid for Amadou Onana is now under consideration.
West Ham United have submitted a third bid for LOSC Lille’s midfielder Amadou Onana this summer, after the first two offers from the Hammers were firmly rejected by the French side as they believe their 20-year-old midfielder is worth more than what they proposed.
Onana has caught the eye of many clubs in Europe after his debut season for Lille last campaign, several Premier League sides such as Liverpool are keen on signing him, so it might be down to the player as to where he ends up.
With West Ham submitting a third bid for Onana this summer, Thomas spoke on the You Irons podcast and claimed that if this bid gets rejected, then they will go in with a fourth offer for him.
(21:22) “The third bid is under consideration, now I’m not sure whether Lille are going to accept it or not but I’d imagine let’s say, for example, hypothetically if it gets turned down, I would expect West Ham to go back in for him, that’s how much they like him,” Thomas said.

TIF Thoughts on Thomas’s comments…
If West Ham’s third bid for Onana gets rejected, it will be interesting to see if they go in with an increased offer, because they have already spent just short of £50 million on three players this summer, and they have also been heavily linked with Armando Broja so this could take their summer spending to way over £100 million.
Even if West Ham do increase their bid for Onana, other clubs that are interested in him such as Liverpool could have the upper hand in terms of signing him, because they can offer the Belgian international Champions League football next season, which would be more attractive to him, rather than playing in the UEFA Europa Conference League with West Ham.
