Presenter ExWHUemployee has revealed that Jesse Lingard’s future could be decided this week as West Ham United suffer transfer blow.

It’s no secret that the Hammers have been chasing the midfielder all summer long. But as of yet he remains a free agent after leaving Manchester United at the end of last season.

In a fresh, and potential final, twist on the saga, it now seems as though he could be set to join Nottingham Forest instead. However, Ex has stated that West Ham will make one last attempt to sign the player.

Indeed, he took to The West Ham Way Patreon page to explain his full understanding of the situation that could be decided at last in the coming days.

Ex wrote: “The Jesse Lingard situation is one that will hopefully be coming to a conclusion this weekend.

“Nottingham Forest appear (at this moment) to be ahead in the negotiations with the player likely to go there.

“This is a major blow for West Ham who have had him as a number one target for a number of transfer windows. The club will attempt one more time to persuade the player to come to the club that he identified as the one he wanted to join.”

TIF thoughts on Jesse Lingard and West Ham…

Not that long ago, Ex slammed the whole saga regarding Lingard and his possible move to West Ham. The presenter called it all ‘ridiculous’ and expressed his desire for it to be sorted soon.

Well, if the latest update is accurate, it looks as though he is finally set to get his wish, with the former Red Devil now seemingly close to deciding his future.

However, fans of Lingard and the Irons will be concerned to see Forest leading the race for his signature as the final hurdle approaches. Still, considering the amount of twists and turns the deal has taken so far, it would not be a shock to see the 29-year-old end up in London after all.

And, with West Ham said to be preparing one last offer, this move may not quite be dead in the water just yet. Of course, only time will tell, but there shouldn’t be too much waiting before we finally get an answer.
