Insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that agent Alessandro Lucci could be the key to West Ham United’s transfer hopes of signing Filip Kostic.

The Hammers certainly seem to have a strong interest in the Eintracht Frankfurt wing-back and could end up landing him this summer if things go well.

However, no deal is officially sorted just yet and things could be complicated with Ex now explaining that Chelsea might be set to possibly rival them for the player’s signature.

Indeed, he stated as much on The West Ham Way Patreon page, while then claiming that Lucci – who was the agent involved in bringing Gianluca Scamacca to the club – could play a vital role in proceedings.

He wrote: “Talks with Serbian international Kostic are set to continue for at least another day. As we reported before there are concerns that his club Frankfurt are trying to encourage other clubs to bid for the left-sided player. With rumours that Chelsea could enter the fray.

“The key appears to be Alessandro Lucci, the agent involved in bringing Gianluca Scamacca to the club. He was due to meet with Kostic today and discuss a move to West Ham but it looks like these discussions have been carried over for another day with no clarity of whether there has been any progress or not despite reports in one Italian paper, who notoriously jump the gun, that there had.”

TIF thoughts on Filip Kostic and West Ham…

West Ham recently signed Scamacca from Sassuolo in a £30.5m deal, as joined the Premier League club on a five-year contract with the option to extend another year. With Lucci playing a part in that deal, according to Ex, it could be handy to already have an established relationship with the agent.

However, with Chelsea entering the picture, things might suddenly get a little bit more complicated for the Hammers, especially as it looks as though talks between Kostic and Lucci on the topic of a move to West Ham have now been delayed, suggesting other ideas could now possibly being explored.

With the left-sided player roughly valued at just €20m (£17m), it’s easy to see why a number of clubs may end up making a move for Kostic. With that in mind, the Irons might have to be at their best in negotiations if they want to land the player this summer.
