According to ExWHUemployee, West Ham United has submitted a bid for Gianluca Scamacca but the club is not settled on upping the price for the player amid interest in Armando Broja.

The Hammers have been looking to bring in a new striker this summer as they only have Michail Antonio as a recognised striker in the squad at the time of writing. As a result of this, they have recently been linked with Sassoulo’s Scamacca, who impressed last season.

However, Ex claimed that while the East London club have offered a bid for the player, which is yet to be accepted, they are not sure about submitting a higher bid as he is not a target of manager David Moyes.

He wrote on the West Ham Way Patreon page, “The offer is in for Scamacca but it hasn’t been accepted as yet and the club are unsure whether they want to offer any more for the player. Talks will continue. However, this player was a Newman target brought to Moyes whereas Broja was his own.”

TIF Thoughts on Ex’s comments…

The Hammers are in desperate need of competition at the striker position before the start of next season, and we think either Scamacca or Broja would be a great addition to aid Antonio in all competitions.

Who should West Ham sign?

Deciding between the two is not easy, however. While Scamacca bagged more goals with 16 in all competitions than Broja’s nine, the Chelsea youngster already has Premier League experience at Southampton who was battling further down the table than West Ham.

Scamacca may have more goals, but he is an unknown entity when it comes to how he would perform in the English top flight.

The claim that Broja is Moyes’ pick, whereas, Scamacca is the favourite of Rob Newman, who is the head of recruitment at the East London club. This could be a close battle for whose opinion is more important, but either way, it looks like they will be getting a promising young starlet this summer.
