Alasdair Gold has dropped an exciting transfer claim while speaking on his YouTube channel about Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Clement Lenglet.
It appears clear that Antonio Conte is desperate to improve his backline at Tottenham having seen the club try and make a move for Alessandro Bastoni earlier in the summer, but now they seem close to bringing in Lenglet.
The French international has been tipped to join Spurs, initially just on loan, which may appear to be a strange signing on paper given he wasn’t even a regular starter for a poor Barcelona side last term, featuring from the off in just seven league matches.
However, Spurs may be more convinced by his apparent desire to join the club, as Gold explained.
(29:55) “From what I understand at the moment is it’s not quite close there yet between the two clubs, it sounds like certainly Lenglet is very happy to come and I don’t think personal terms are an issue there at all. It certainly sounds like maybe they’ve already been agreed with representatives.”

While the Barcelona man has not had a great time of things in Catalonia, the fact he’s a French international would certainly suggest that he’s got talent within himself, it may just need a fresh start and a manager to get it out of him.
If the reports are true that Lenglet could arrive just on loan, then that could help all parties with Spurs seeing if he’s good enough for the standard of the Premier League and Barcelona, who have a whole load of financial issues, get his wages off their books for a period of time.
