Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge recently revealed that Tottenham Hotspur has not ruled out a possible move for Leceister City star man Youri Tielemans this summer.

Spurs recently announced the signing of Richarlison after already bringing in Yves Bissouma, Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster, while they are still looking to bring in top-quality players – with Tielemans linked amid interest from other top-flight clubs.

Bridge revealed in an interview with Spurs YouTuber Chris Cowlin that the club have not ruled out a move for the player as he has been a long-term favourite of the club and the reported interest from Arsenal has cooled in recent weeks.

He said: “Don’t be surprised if they might have another look at him maybe down the line. I’m not saying that there have been any bids, but I know there’s always been people at the club that have admired him, even back in the Poch era. Is there something they could do there? I don’t know.

“He’s an attacking-minded midfielder that Tottenham are keen to look at. I don’t think that’d be anywhere near, but that’s someone that I have heard not to completely rule out in future. I heard that a few weeks ago, and I said, ‘I thought he was going to Arsenal?’, and they went, ‘No, no, not at the moment’.”

TIF Thoughts on Tielemans to Spurs…

While there has not been any official bid from the North London side, bringing in a player like Tielemans to fit alongside Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur would surely give them one of the most impressive midfield options in the Premier League.

Last season, he picked up seven goals and five assists in all competitions for the Foxes while averaging 1.5 shots, 1.1 key passes, 1.9 tackles, 1.5 dribbles, and 2.3 long balls per game with 84.2% passing accuracy on 56.9 average passes per game.

The Belgium international also ranked in the 94th percentile for total shots, 89th for expected assists and the 99th for progressive passes per game compared to other midfielders across Europe’s top five leagues.

It seems any deal for the player is far off, but with the velocity, the Spurs hierarchy is working at in the transfer window so far it would not be surprising if they did manage to make a move for the player.
