Tottenham Hotspur are expected to turn their attention to bringing in a luxurious, creative player once they address their central defender and right wing-back needs.

This is what transfer guru Dean Jones has suggested when writing on the Ranks FC Patreon page about the latest in all things transfer-related.

Jones believes Spurs are now looking to complete the signings of Djed Spence and Clement Lenglet in the coming days, with the Lilywhites optimistic about doing so.

It is believed Tottenham are closing in on an agreement for Spence, and a move for French centre-back Lenglet seems to be a matter of time before being agreed, with a loan deal reprotedly close.

And with Jones believing Spurs are confident of landing the pair, a focus will then be put on addressing their lack of creativity in the midfield.

He said: “Been fun watching this squad build and at the moment, there is still a good chance that Djed Spence and Clement Lenglet join them. Bit of haggling to be done, but Spurs remain positive.

“After that, I think we will also see a couple of fun additions at the back end of the window – one might even be a luxury, creative player.”

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…

We think this will be a key area for Spurs to address this summer, with a severe lack of assists coming from their midfielders in the 2021/22 campaign.

Should Spurs have gone for Eriksen?

Yes

No

No

We thought the potential signing of Christian Eriksen would have made a lot of sense – a proven Premier League playmaker who could have been landed on a free transfer.

Yet Spurs reportedly distanced themselves from the potential deal before the Dane agreed to join Manchester United, so we will be interested to see who they now turn their attention to.

Tottenham have been linked with the likes of Lucas Paqueta already, but having snubbed Eriksen, we do feel as if they need to make a move this summer for a player who could provide a big creative spark.
