Tottenham Hotspur director of football Fabio Paratici will now keep an eye on the summer market with an emphasis now on outgoings.

This is according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who has been speaking on the latest Que Golazo YouTube video to discuss all things transfer-related.

Spurs have now returned from their pre-season tour of South Korea, which saw Antonio Conte’s men pick up a victory and a draw in their two outings.

The Lilywhites have had an encouraging start to the summer on all fronts with a busy start in the transfer window, which is expected to be added to with the arrival of Djed Spence.

With soon-to-be six new faces through the door, Romano believes now is the time Spurs offload some of their unwanted players to free up some room for any potential further additions:

He said: “Tottenham are working on completing the deal for Djed Spence. It’s a done deal, they just need to announce in the coming hours.

“And then they will decide on the market depending on what happens with the outgoings. They have many players to discuss on the outgoings like Harry Winks, let’s see what happens with [Sergio] Reguilon; there are many players to discuss that Tottenham are discussing about departures.

“There’s also [Giovani] Lo Celso, [Tanguy] Ndombele, so there are many things to clarify before maybe re-jumping on the market with opportunities.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

It really has been an impressive window for Spurs, which has seen Paratici address Conte’s key areas for improvement with just under three weeks to go until the season kicks off.

And we think Spurs sit in a favourable position now. It seems most of their business is done, so they can sit back and keep an eye out for any potential opportunities which may emerge and act accordingly.

With players also expected to depart, Spurs should be able to generate some further income which may be able to help them in the market, with the likes of Giovani Lo Celso being linked with permanent departures.
