A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans may be a little concerned after footage emerged of new signing Richarlison missing a sitter in pre-season.

Earlier this summer, Spurs spent big in the transfer market – potentially up to £60m with add-ons – to sign the Brazilian winger, and he has already been included on the club’s tour of South Korea.

And while the players are put through their paces as they look to prepare themselves for the upcoming Premier League season, one moment caught by the cameras could have fans worried about their new high-profile player.

Indeed, in footage shared by Twitter account ‘How did he miss?‘, the former Everton man saw the ball rolled across to him to finish from less than 12 yards out. However, Richarlison proceeded to blast his effort high over the crossbar despite being under no pressure at all.

TIF Thoughts on Richarlison and Spurs…

To make things worse, in the video you can actually hear fans that have come to watch the pre-season training session laugh out loud in disbelief at the miss.

No doubt, Richarlison will be hoping to adjust to his new environment and settle into the team as quickly as possible, and this public embarrassment would not have been ideal for his confidence.

On top of that, the new Tottenham man is known for his slightly prickly nature, and an incident like this may well have left him feeling rather unhappy.

All in all, it is just a pre-season training session and he’ll hope to put the miss behind him soon enough when it comes to playing in actual competitive matches. Even so, it’s hardly the ideal start and some fans may be worried it’s a sign of things to come for Richarlison in a Spurs shirt.

Too much is being made of that ‘sitter.’ I watched the entire training session and he got better as the session went on.. MUCH better in fact.
