According to injury specialist Ben Dinnery, new Tottenham Hotspur signing Ivan Perisic is nearly ready to integrate himself into the side after sustaining a calf problem last season.

Spurs have flown into the summer transfer market and bolstered their squad impressively after signing Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison and Clement Lenglet so far this window.

However, the Croatian has yet to be able to join the squad in training due to a calf problem sustained at Inter, but Dinnery believes he is nearly ready to join them on their pre-season tour and is not too far away from recovering fully.

He said on the Premier FPL Injuries YouTube page: “Perisic picked up a calf problem at the back end of the Serie A season. Now, while he’s progressed and recovered really well from that, he’s still not fully integrated with the group.

“So, he’s working on an individual programme, but rest assured, he isn’t too far away. In terms of his overall injury history, particularly in Serie A, he’s a player who had an availability rate of 95%-plus.”

TIF Thoughts on Dinnery’s comments…

While making these incredible signings is great from the Spurs hierarchy, it doesn’t make a difference until they are fully integrated into the squad and gain experience working with their new teammates ahead of the next Premier League season.

Perisic will be a great addition to the side after his impressive season at Inter during the 2021/22 campaign. The wing-back managed 10 goals and nine assists during the season, as well as averaging 1.6 shots, 1.5 key passes, one tackle, 1.2 interceptions and 1.5 long balls per game.

With just under a month to go until the start of the 2022/23 Premier League season, we feel integrating Perisic is going to be essential for their form to kick the season off, and luckily Dinnery has confirmed that he will be back in time to gain this experience.
