Tottenham Hotspur are now looking at making “luxury signings” this transfer window.

That is according to Dean Jones who was speaking to This is Futbol about what remains for Antonio Conte’s side in the summer transfer window.

Spurs have made major changes to the squad so far this summer, welcoming six new faces to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, whilst January 2020 signing Steven Bergwijn has left the club for Ajax for a fee of £26.4m.

The Evening Standard reported following the signing of Middlesbrough right-back Djed Spence that the Lilywhites were looking to offload a number of players before making any more signings this summer.

But Jones believes that the club are now looking at bringing in luxury signings which could result in a transfer fee of about £60m.

“It’s luxury signings that they’re now looking at.”

“Having £60m for a luxury signing is a lot of money, and is going to be somebody that’s going to expect to be part of your side, week in week out.”

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments

We believe that Spurs have recruited wisely thus far this summer, and now find themselves in the advantageous position of being able to pick and choose which players they would like to add to the squad this summer.

We feel that the club are only two signings away from potentially running Manchester City and Liverpool the distance for the Premier League title this season, and another centre-back or centre-midfielder wouldn’t go amiss if Daniel Levy chose to invest more money on these positions.

However, we think that Tottenham fans will be delighted to hear that there is still the potential for another high profile signing this summer, even after a summer which has seen plenty of incomings at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium so far.

Totally excited to hear this and I hope it comes true.. but I’m hoping it’s a proven player who can thread killer passes in the final 3rd for Kane and etc to feed on to score. Noticed in our last pre season game against Roma that we lacked someone in this mould.. and.. oh.. it better not be James Maddison,
