Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur really want Adama Traore to sign for them this summer.

According to Football Insider, Traore has become available for £10m in this window due to him entering the final year of his contract at Wolves, and Tottenham were thought to be one of the sides interested in him last month.

Traore spent the second half of last season on loan with Barcelona, and things did not go to plan for the Spanish winger, as he failed to register a goal and chipped in with just two assists in 11 La Liga games.

Despite not having the best time out on loan last season with Barcelona after rejecting a move to Tottenham, Jones spoke to GiveMeSport and claimed that there are people at Spurs that really like him, and that they could even make him a priority signing.

He said: “I think Adama Traore still would have to be considered for that slot. We know how much they liked him. There are people involved in the setup that really want Adama Traore and even would make him a priority because they think it’d be such a good fit.”

TIF Thoughts on Jones’s comments…

Spurs have already made six signings in this summer’s transfer window, spending just over £90m in the process, so if Antonio Conte was to bring in any more talent, he might well prioritise targets he could bring in on the cheap, and Traore for £10m could be a suitable option.

However, Traore – who was dubbed a “monster” by Xavi – has proven in the past that he has not been the most effective player in terms of his final product, as he has featured 160 times in the Premier League and found the back of the net just eight times, so it will be interesting to see what position and role he will be handed in north London if Spurs were to sign him.

Traore was an idiot for choosing Barca instead of us at this stage in his career. His finishing just isn’t good enough (yet). Now you look at Emerson for example. couldn’t cross a ball for toffee last season. Yet In pre-season he’s been spot on.because the coaching staff have worked their magic.
Traore, complete with finishing prowess I’ve always said will be an unstoppable behemoth, then in 3 or 4 years time clubs will be falling over themselves to acquire him.

Signing him for 10 Million is a snip!!!!
