TalkSport pundit Simon Jordan has claimed we will see a ‘different’ Tottenham Hotspur next season – and one that could land a trophy with Daniel Levy and Antonio Conte working well together.
After securing Champions League football last season, Spurs are seemingly intent on solidifying their position among the top four and have made a splash in the transfer market this summer.
After the arrivals of Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic, Conte swooped to reinforce his midfield by bringing in Yves Bissouma for an initial £25m.
The club have also broken their club record this window, dishing out £60m to bring in former Everton frontman Richarlison.
Clement Lenglet has come in on a season-long loan to bolster the defence and Djed Spence is expected to be the next through the door.
Jordan has previously said that Conte ‘can catch’ the country’s leading duo of Manchester City and Liverpool, and although he doesn’t expect the Lilywhites to challenge this term, he made the following comments:
“What I think you’re going to see with Tottenham is a very different Tottenham Hotspur.
“More substance, more backbone. The players that are coming in are more of a Conte type than that’s been there previously.
“He’s made his mind up about certain players and certain players have left.
“So I think Tottenham will finish in the top four, will stabilise in the top four – unless the wheels come off completely with Conte and Daniel Levy which I have no reason to believe.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if they got themselves into a situation where maybe they got knocked out early in the Champions League and dropped into the Europa League and won that, but I think there’s a pot; I think there’s a cup for Tottenham next year.”

Conte made his mark in January by letting five players go and bringing in Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski, who settled in quickly in north London. And going by the signings already made at Hotspur Way this summer, one would assume that he now has the squad depth to be challenging for honours next season.
So it is no surprise Jordan cannot foresee a scenario where Conte and Levy fall out, despite the coach’s habit of creating tensions behind the scenes.
Many will assume the Italian is just the man to end what will be a 15-year wait for a trophy by the time prizes are handed out next season – and Jordan is also seemingly of that impression, too.
Having seen the 52-year-old win a Premier League and an FA Cup in his two seasons at Chelsea before moving to Inter and leading the club to their first Scudetto in 11 years, it doesn’t seem too far out of the question.
