Insider ExWHUemployee has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur must pick between either Clement Lenglet or Gleison Bremer.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are close to signing the Frenchman from Barcelona after the move was given Antonio Conte’s approval.

However, recent reports also link the Premier League outfit with a move for Bremer who currently plays for Torino in Serie A (as per 90min).

In the eyes of transfer expert Ex, though, Tottenham will only one of the defenders and not both. Indeed, the presenter claimed as much while speaking on The Transfer Show podcast.

He said (5:18): “Tottenham are also interested in Gleison Bremer. He’s a Brazilian centre-back playing for Torino.

“Again the three London clubs Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal all going for the same player apparently.

“Obviously I just mentioned that they’re [Spurs] going for a Barcelona defender [Lenglet]. They’re looking at him.

“They’re not going to sign both of them, I wouldn’t have thought. So it will be a case of which one represents the better deal.”

TIF thoughts Clement Lenglet, Gleison Bremer and Spurs…

Judging from the aforementioned Romano quotes, it does sound as if the deal for Lenglet is already pretty close. That will be a loan move, but with wages and more financial details still to work out, it could yet fall through.

This could explain why Spurs are potentially working on a deal for Bremer at the same time. According to Sport Mediaset, via InterNews, Torino want a figure in the region of €40m (£35m) for the 25-year-old – and so this fee could put Tottenham off.

With that being the situation, they must now try to work out which signing would represents the ‘better deal’ this summer. Only time will tell who that is. But if Ex’s information is correct, it looks as though Spurs will indeed end up with just one of the pair.

You know what?? What’s the point? Peresic is injured already and we’re probably going to sign leggit no matter what the supporters want. … All we really needed was a decent left back.. instead we’ve been buying everything but.. now we’re going to end up the same as always.. I really thought this year would be different, but it wont be… Bremer or Bastoni was all we really needed.. the rest was a luxury.. but nope..When we the supporters EVER learn!!!!
