Journalist Rob Guest has stated just how good a move Joe Rodon could have if he completes a loan transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Rennes.

Earlier this week, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Spurs defender will leave on an initial loan but the deal will include an option to buy for €20million (£16.7m).

In reaction to the news, Guest published an article on football.london stating that it was a ‘much-needed’ for the Wales defender with the 2022 World Cup on the horizon.

He backed this article up with an emphatic Tweet on social media which simply said: “What a move this could be for the player.”

TIF thoughts on Joe Rodon and Spurs…

Rodon struggled for game time in a Spurs shirt last season, playing just ten times in all competitions with only 86 minutes to his name in the Premier League.

But with the World Cup coming up later this year, the Wales international will no doubt be desperate to make sure he is on the plane to Qatar.

No doubt, one of the best ways to do this will be to get regular minutes for a good side an he may well get this with the loan move to Rennes who play in Ligue 1.

All in all, it’s easy to see why this deal could suit all parties and why Guest has expressed just how impressed he is by the potential piece of business.
