Talk Sport’s Gabby Agbonlahor believes Tottenham Hotspur star man Harry Kane will stay at the north London club this summer amid links to Bayern Munich due to Champions League football and his goalscoring record.
Spurs have vastly improved their squad this summer thanks to bringing in the likes of Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, and Djed Spence to name a few as they look to build around the vision of their elite manager, Antonio Conte.
However, recently German giants Bayern Munich announced their interest in signing Kane, much to the dismay of Conte, but Agbonlahor believes he will not leave the club for two key reasons.
Agbonlahor told Talk Sport, “Harry Kane is not leaving Spurs. Just got into the Champions League, he’s going to beat that record by Alan Shearer, Premier League goals. I don’t see him leaving the Premier League to go to the Bundesliga, as good as Bayern Munich are as a team. So, it’s not going to unsettle Harry Kane”. (0:41)
TIF Thoughts on Kane to Bayern…
Before the end of last season, it would make much more sense for Kane to be looking to leave Spurs. But now, they have one of the best managers in the world in Conte, a much-improved squad thanks to their busy transfer window, and they have Champions League football to play this season.
It is not surprising Kane is garnering interest from an elite club like Bayern as he has shown himself to be one of the best strikers in world football with an incredible 183 goals and 47 assists in 282 Premier League appearances for Spurs.
While Kane would be guaranteed trophies playing in Germany, he has the chance to become a Premier League and Spurs legend if he sees his career out at the Lilywhites. As Agbonlahor says as well, Kane has the chance to surpass Alan Shearer’s incredible record of 260 Premier League goals.
Spurs seem to be going in the right direction and could currently boast the best squad they have ever had and a great chance at finally picking up some silverware. With this in mind, it is hard to see why Kane would leave right now.
