Insider Dean Jones believes that Tottenham have acquired all their targets and anything else will be a ‘luxury’ with James Maddison being targeted.
Djed Spence’s arrival at Hotspur Way this week was Spurs’ sixth addition this summer having already acted to bring in Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison and Clement Lenglet.
Antonio Conte has added serious depth to his squad this off-season as he prepares for his first full season in north London but the club may still look to add a creative influence to the squad with Maddison firmly on the radar.
FA registered intermediary Paul O’Keefe has claimed that Fabio Paratici has now set his sights on the Leicester City ace and Jones is of the impression that it would certainly be a bonus for the Lilywhites.
Should Spurs sign Maddison?
He told GIVEMESPORT: “The six key signings are tied up. So anything else from here is going to be considered a luxury signing. I mean, Maddison can definitely be filed under a luxury asset.”
TIF Thoughts on Maddison and Spurs…
While it does seem as though Conte has strengthened in all the positions he desired with the Evening Standard reporting that they are still on the hunt for a playmaker, Maddison could well find his way to the capital and he would be a huge ‘luxury asset’ for the Italian manager.
Despite a seemingly quiet campaign for the attacking midfielder on the surface, the 25-year-old was awarded the Foxes’ club player of the year after being involved in 30 goals.
England manager Gareth Southgate admitted that he “finished the season very well” although he was left out of the latest England squad earlier this summer.
Nonetheless, with long-term admiration in the £45m-rated dynamo, it could be one worth keeping an eye on with six weeks of the window remaining.
