Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur have not closed the door on another arrival at the top end of the pitch this summer.

That is despite the £60m signing of Richarlison, as manager Antonio Conte puts together a squad fit to contend with Premier League and Champions League football.

The Brazilian became Spurs’ fourth signing of the window following Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma coming through the doors at Hotspur Way.

Clement Lenglet has also recently joined, while Djed Spence seems poised to make the switch to north London.

The Telegraph initially reported that Conte wanted to add six new faces to his side this pre-season, and Romano now believes the club are in a position to stretch their budget further.

When asked whether Tottenham could sign another attacking player, he told GiveMeSport: “I think this would be one of the possibilities in case they find an opportunity in the market.

“They are now super happy with Richarlison because they feel Richarlison is a better player to be a backup option for Kane but also to play together with Kane, Son and [Dejan] Kulusevski, so it could be a very good option for Antonio Conte.”

TIF Thoughts on Spurs…

Should Spurs sign Depay?

Richarlison certainly is a versatile option for the Italian manager but given the recent sale of Steven Bergwijn for a healthy £26.4m, there is perhaps scope to add another attack-minded player to the squad.

Spurs have been tipped to sign Jesse Lingard in order to help fulfil their homegrown quota, while much has been made of their interest in Anthony Gordon of Everton.

However, a wildcard option includes the seemingly affordable Barcelona outcast Memphis Depay, with Sport claiming that the Catalan giants would only be seeking £17m for his signature, and the Netherlands international could be eager to try his hand once again in the Premier League after a failed stint with Manchester United – so perhaps it’s one to keep an eye on.

I still think there is a chance we could still beat ARSEnal to Raphinia, assuming Barca cant stump up the cash needed!
