Phil Hay has been speaking about what people have told him to expect from new Leeds United signing Luis Sinisterra.
Leeds moved very swiftly and even appeared to have it pre-planned that Sinisterra would be joining the club in a way to try and fill the void left by Raphinha who has now departed after two seasons at Elland Road.
A lot of expectations may be placed on the shoulder of Sinisterra given he could well be seen as a direct replacement for Raphinha and judging by the numbers he put up for Feyenoord last season, he could live up to those expectations.
Hay has revealed on The Phil Hay Show what people out in the Netherlands have told him about Sinisterra.
(38:44) “I’ve spoken to a few people in Holland about him, we’ll have a piece coming at some stage fairly soon, just about his background and everything else, he sounds to me like he’s somebody who fits very well into a specific system.
Will Sinisterra turn out better than Raphinha?
Yes!
No!
“So if you come up with a system, he’s clever enough and bright enough to understand what you have to do and how you have to fit into it, but he also I think is a little like Raphinha in that he is extremely good off the cuff, good at creating goals himself, good at creating chances from very little.
“They thought a lot of him at are Feyenoord, all the people who watched him, journalists who wrote about him were really impressed as well.”
TIF Thoughts on Sinisterra…
According to WhoScored, Sinisterra could very much be what Hay has alluded to as good at creating chances and very much off the cuff as some of his strengths are said to be dribbling and key passes and that he also likes to dribble often.
However, for him to be compared to Raphinha, a player who hit the ground running and within two seasons had secured a move to one of the bigger clubs in the world, Sinisterra will have to prove his ability in the Premier League and leave all of his records and hype behind in the Netherlands.
He’s good at dibbling, he dribbles well and he likes dribbling.
