Harry De Cosemo has claimed on Twitter that Newcastle United will be looking to sign talent from abroad next this summer.

The Magpies have already secured three signings this summer with two of them coming from the domestic market in the form of Matt Targett, who spent last season on loan with Newcastle, and Nick Pope who has joined to compete with Martin Dubravka.

Newcastle most recently brought in Sven Botman from Lille and given the Magpies will surely now be looking to improve their attacking firepower, they could well keep looking across the continent this summer.

This is what De Cosemo believes Dan Ashworth, Steve Nickson and the Newcastle board will be looking to do as he said ‘But #NUFC need a forward and they’ll look there next. My bet is they’ll look abroad.’

TIF Thoughts on Newcastle’s need for a forward…

The Magpies are in serious need of improvements in the final third this summer considering that Callum Wilson finished as the club’s top scorer despite only starting 16 league games, which points towards a clear problem.

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

This doesn’t necessarily mean they need a new striker, the Magpies could move for a winger that contributes significantly, which would make the links to Moussa Diaby make a lot of sense as he managed 31 goal involvements last season, although would reportedly set them back £60 million.
