Sky Sports journalist Pete Graves has dismissed any links of Newcastle United to Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven this summer, stating he has heard nothing about the player in conversations he has had.

Newcastle has stormed into the transfer window with multiple signings like Sven Botman and Nick Pope and has been linked with a number of high-profile players including Madueke, who has impressed during his time in the Eredivise with PSV.

However, Graves has revealed while he has seen links to the player online, he has not heard anything in his conversations about Newcastle signing the player amid their rebuild under the Public Investment Fund.

He said on the Loaded Mag NUFC YouTube channel: “Not one that I’ve heard, to be honest. I’ve seen it online, but I’ve not heard it as part of my discussions.”

TIF Thoughts on Graves’ comments…

It is not surprising that Newcastle has been linked with a number of players that they are not going to negotiate for or have any interest in signing. This comes with the territory of their new ownership and their status as the wealthiest club in world football.

While according to Graves they are not interested in Madueke, or not yer, he would certainly be a good signing for them as at least a squad player. Last season for PSV, he bagged nine goals and six assists in all competitions while bagging 1.7 shots, 2.3 dribbles, and 0.8 tackles with an 83.4% passing accuracy (as per WhoScored).

The £16.2m-rated winger has bags of potential and could be a smart investment for the side, but could cost the side a pretty penny as his contract is set to expire in 2025. Luckily money doesn’t seem to be a problem for them.
