Journalist Jacque Talbot has lauded Manchester United for seemingly securing the signature of a ‘world-class’ star in Christian Eriksen.

Speaking on the All For United YouTube channel, Talbot discussed what looks like the imminent arrival of the Dane to Old Trafford after it was reported by The Athletic on 4th July that he had verbally agreed to join the club.

As stated by the MEN, the 30-year-old was scheduled to have his medical this week before linking up with his new teammates on their pre-season tour of Australia.

Eriksen will bring some much-needed guile to the United midfield with Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata all departing, and having contributed to 123 goals in the English top flight, Talbot sang the praises of the United board for closing in on a deal as well as the player in question.

He said: “I think he’s such a good buy because it’s the shrewd sort of purchase that United have been crying out for, Christian Eriksen. He’s such a quality player.

“I think he’s a world-class player.”

Will United sign Eriksen?

The 115-time Denmark international was previously dubbed a ‘superstar’ by insider Graeme Bailey, and having ranked in the top 1% of attacking midfielders over the past year for assists and shot-creating actions per 90 minutes (FBRef), we believe he would certainly be a ‘shrewd’ pick-up on a free transfer for the Red Devils should a deal be finalised.

The former Tottenham Hotspur standout has scored 110 goals throughout his senior career as well as providing a dizzying 162 assists, and after highlighting that his qualities do remain while in west London with Brentford, it will be interesting to see how his career pans out under Erik ten Hag.

Man utd is slowly but surely making progress under Ten Hag. If they are able to secure the signatures of all their targets, they are sure to win trophies this coming season.
