YouTuber Mark Goldbridge has called for Donny van de Beek to ‘start’ for Manchester United this season.
The Red Devils continued their fine form during pre-season with a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace down under on Tuesday.
Erik ten Hag introduced van de Beek and the Dutchman provided the assist for Marcus Rashford to slot home United’s second in the second half.
He earned a rating of seven from the Manchester Evening News for his performance while the man he replaced at half-time Scott McTominay received a 5/10 match rating and was described as the ‘biggest weakness’ in the front six with Goldbridge now insisting that the Scotman’s partnership with Fred must be permanently severed.
Donny has to start in that midfield. 1-0 at half time with 4 shots. 3-0 in 15 minutes with 4 shots when he came on. Team just has better balance when you break up McFred

TIF Thoughts on van de Beek and United…
Will Erik ten Hag save Donny van de Beek's MUFC career?
He starred in their run to the Champions League semi-finals in 2018/19 playing a hand in five goals and stayed in Amsterdam for another year while Matthijs De Ligt and Frenkie De Jong departed scoring a further ten goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions from centre-midfield.
Despite arriving with such a reputation he has been limited to just 50 appearances so far in Manchester with an average of 36 minutes per outing but perhaps the right man is now at the helm to reinvigorate the 25-year-old’s career.
