Journalist Conor McGilligan has expressed his frustration as new Leeds United signing Luis Sinisterra picks up an injury in his first start.
Earlier this summer, the Whites spent somewhere in the region of £20m to bring the winger to the Premier League from Feyenoord as essentially a replacement for Raphinha.
The deal was completed in time for Sinisterra to be involved in the club’s pre-season tour of Australia and he was even included to make his first start in the friendly match against Crystal Palace.
However, the player sadly picked up an injury early on in the game and had to leave the pitch as a result – leading to much concern from McGilligan.
Indeed, he sent a tweet saying:
Sinisterra hobbles off, Premier League season 10 days away.
Can't write it.#LUFC

Will Luis Sinisterra be a hit at Leeds United?

TIF thoughts on Luis Sinisterra and Leeds…
Sinisterra will certainly have large boots to fill if he is seen as the man to replace Raphinha – who has just joined Barcelona in a big-money transfer.
With that in mind, Leeds United fans would have been hoping to see the Colombian make a fast start to life with his new club, but this injury during his first start has prevented any chances of that happening.
Of course, the issue may not be that bad and he could be fit and ready for action soon. Even so, with the new Premier League season just around the corner, this is hardly a good time to pick up any potential niggles.
It’s little wonder McGilligan was left so frustrated by it all. And this will be particular jarring due to the injury issues Leeds had last season.
