Journalist Beren Cross has claimed that Crysencio Summerville may have a chance to step up for Leeds United ahead of the new season.
Earlier this summer, the Whites signed winger Luis Sinisterra from Feyenoord, but after he picked up an injury in a pre-season friendly, doubt remain over whether or not he will be fit for the start of the Premier League season.
When Sinisterra got injured, Marsch opted to send Rodrigo on and move Brenden Aaronson out wide to fill the gap (via LeedsLive). But with a friendly against Cagliari coming up on Sunday, the Leeds United manager may switch things up again.
With all that in mind, Cross has claimed that this should be the time for Summerville to shine if Marsch really does believe in the 20-year-old’s potential.
He wrote on Twitter: “Summerville wants game time and if Marsch is serious about getting him involved, he has a gift-wrapped opportunity to do so.”

In a further article on the topic, Cross goes on to explain that even if Marsch didn’t intend on using Summerville from the start in the opening day fixture against Wolves, giving him a key role against Cagliari could be a big confidence boost for the starlet.
He also explained that if Leeds are serious about the winger’s future at the club, injuries such as the one to Sinisterra must be viewed as an opportunity to be ‘handed down’.
Over the summer, there has been talk of possibly handing Summerville a new contract, so if they really want to get him to commit his future to the club, this would indeed be a great chance to show where he stands in the current pecking order.
